T Capital Partners is an independent sponsor investing in Technology sector special situations
We look for control positions where we can serve as active Board members or smaller "passive" positions in secondary transactions, but in all cases work as a partner with management and shareholders.
We focus on higher margin software and technology enabled services companies. Specific sectors of interest include:
Analytics and Data Aggregation;
eCommerce Enablement; Marketing Automation; Marketplaces; Productivity Applications; and SaaS solutions.
The firm leverages its network to find appropriate operators and investors with specific sector expertise to serve as additional Board members and be helpful around partnerships and business development opportunities.
Who We Are
Thayer established T Capital Partners after 12-plus years as an investor at Deutsche Bank and ABS Ventures to invest in and support companies that find themselves in the capital gap between traditional venture capital and growth or private equity capital sources. He recently completed an independent sponsor transaction with EverQuote and has served as a Board member or observer at Certona, Gomez and Overtone. Additional experience includes operating roles as an interim-CEO, co-founder and start-up CFO.

Focused on direct and portfolio opportunities
Secondary Direct: Full or partial liquidity for institutional or individual shareholders, including founders, management or early employees in companies with more than $20M of revenue or possibly less if SaaS/recurring revenue.
Portfolios or Partial Portfolios: Full or partial liquidity across two or more companies from one investor. Typically a company or two in the portfolio is more mature.
We are not interested in LP positions.
Including spin-outs, divestures, management buyouts and owner led businesses solving for liquidity and growth
We are interested in these types of transactions with companies or subsidiaries that generate more than $10M of revenue and are currently EBITDA profitable, close to it or have been in the past. We will consider situations with less revenue if a company has a SaaS/recurring revenue model or is highly profitable.
We bring expertise and perspective to a segment of the market that is overlooked by many other investors and can be a great partner to build value for all shareholders over time.
